What this group is

From the station records

Almost all of these stations are AC. That is the right shape for the use: a car parked for eight hours needs a few kilowatts, not a fast charger.

Some workplace chargers are reserved for staff or tenants. The station page says what we know about access, and the hours on it are the ones to trust.

By place type in this group

Counts are stations, not plugs. A station can list more than one connector or network, so it can appear in more than one hub. Prices are the networks' own tariffs and can change by time of day. Counts from the directory data of October 2026.

Workplaces: common questions

Coverage, power and price

How many EV charging stations are at workplaces?

EVDIR lists 599 public stations at workplaces, across 16 states and 312 cities, with 1,916 charging stalls. 386 are recorded as open around the clock.

Are workplaces chargers open to the public?

Not always. The directory lists a station because our records do, and some sites — a residents' garage, a staff parking lot, a dealer's forecourt — are not open to anyone who drives in. The station page carries the access line and the hours the record holds, so check it before planning a stop.

How fast are the chargers at workplaces?

475 stations are Level 2 (under 50 kW), 22 are DC fast at 50 kW or more, and 4 reach 150 kW or more. The peak power on a station page is what the record shows for that site.

How much does it cost to charge at workplaces?

352 of them quote a per-kWh price, with a median of $0.35 and 255 at $0.40 or less. The price is set by the site's owner, so two hotels in the same city can charge differently.
