How many states and cities does EVDIR cover?

The directory covers 23 states, 1,801 cities and 6,338 public charging stations with 21,797 charging stalls. 282 of those cities have a guide of their own; the rest are listed on their state page.

Which state has the most EV charging stations?

California leads the directory with 1,688 public stations across 254 cities, followed by New York at 941 and Texas at 904.

Why does my city not have its own page?

A city gets a page once it has at least 5 public stations, which is the point at which the page can answer something a card list cannot: how many stalls, which networks, what the median price is. A city below that threshold is listed on its state page and opens the directory centred on it, with the same filters.

How are the city and state pages built?

Every location page is prerendered at build time from the same station data the directory filters in the browser. The counts, the cards and the structured data on a city page, its state page and this index are therefore read from one source, and they cannot drift apart.

Counts are stations, not plugs — one station can carry several connector types.
