Privacy policy

Nothing. There is no sign-up, no login, no comment form and no submission form. The pages carry no analytics script, no advertising script, no tracking pixel and no third-party tag manager, and the directory sets no cookie of its own.

Search and filtering run in your browser against one data file the page fetches. What you type into a filter is not sent anywhere.

As with any website, the hosting provider processes the request needed to serve a page: the URL, the time, the browser's user agent and the network address it came from. That is standard server logging, not a profile of a reader, and it is not combined with anything else because there is nothing else to combine it with.

• Map tiles. The map on the directory and on station pages loads raster tiles from tile.openstreetmap.org. That request discloses your network address to the OpenStreetMap Foundation and is governed by their policy.
• Directions. A station page links to Google Maps for directions. Nothing is sent to Google unless you follow the link.
• Operator links. A network page links to the operator's own site. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
• Station photos. A published photograph is served from this site. Nothing is requested from the service it originally came from, so opening a station page discloses nothing to that service.
• Corrections. The correction link opens your own mail application. Nothing is sent until you send the message yourself.

The dataset is public information about charging locations. It does not contain reader accounts, reviews or profiles. If a station record contains a phone number or a contact name published in a crowdsourced report, it is reproduced as public location data, not as information about a reader.
